CloutHub
Case #
1921

Alternative social media site CloutHub forced to switch video hosting service after 14 of its channels were deleted without warning or explanation: International Business Machines Corporation, better known by its acronym IBM, is a Fortune 500 company well known for its computer manufacturing. However, the company also provides a litany of other services, including video hosting. Unfortunately, IBM has begun using its position as a video hosting service provider to censor video channels on the relatively new social networking platform CloutHub. “CloutHub will fight Big Tech censorship at every turn,” founder Jeff Brain said in a statement, according to EIN Presswire. A contract between the two companies stated that "IBM agreed not to remove or censor any of [CloutHub's] content without issuing a warning or giving [CloutHub] sufficient time to remedy the problem," Brain also said in his statement. However, "IBM chose not to fulfill its contractual obligation with CloutHub," Brain continued. "To make matters worse, IBM still hasn’t given us an explanation for the permanent removal of CloutHub channels." Not only did IBM remove 14 of CloutHub's video channels, it also spontaneously informed the new social media platform that IBM would be terminating its services to them. Brain said CloutHub was "thrilled" to launch its new video hosting service to protect CloutHub and its members from Big Tech censorship.
