TikTok deleted an account that shared encouragement for acne sufferers, reportedly calling it "gruesome content": BBC reported that TikTok removed the account of Eva Grant, a 16-year-old beauty pageant winner who posts encouraging videos for fellow acne sufferers. "It didn't fit them because of my skin, because it was gruesome content," she told BBC Radio York. In a BBC Look North interview she explained her reaction to the censorship: "At first I was like oh, why is this being taken down when I am trying to do good in the world? And then after about an hour or two I was like no, I'm going to fight this and I am going to remake this account I'm going to make it even better. I'm going to fight for what I believe in." MRC Free Speech America reached out to TikTok and the platform attempted to explain itself. "At TikTok we are driven to provide a platform for creative authentic self-expression. We are open about the fact that we don't get every moderation decision right and have reinstated Eva's account," a TikTok spokesperson told MRC Free Speech America." We hope Eva continues to use TikTok to offer encouragement and advice to others, and to share her story."
