House Judiciary
Case #
952

Twitter censors House Judiciary Committee Press Release link, calling it potentially unsafe: The House Judiciary Committee tweeted the following: "Twitter has blocked users from tweeting the link to the @nypost's story on Hunter Biden. So we put it on our website for you to read and share." It then put in a link to a press release on its web site which contains a link to the NY Post story. When a user attempts to click on the link to this official press release, they instead will receive a warning titled: "Warning, this link may be unsafe." The categories listed for this warning include "malicious links that could steal personal information or harm electronic devices," "spammy links," "violent or misleading content that could lead to real-world harm," or other content that would violate Twitter's rules if posted directly on Twitter. There is a large button on this warning to abandon the story, and a very small link to go ahead to the article found at the linked URL.
