Gays Against Groomers
Case #
4260

Linktree removed Gays Against Groomers for alleged 'inappropriate use of this service': Linktree, a platform that generates one link that lists all of a user's social media and promotions, removed Gays Against Groomers from its platform. Users who attempt to access the Gays Against Groomers Linktree find a message that reads "This account has been removed due to inappropriate use of this service." Gays Against Groomers' Founder Jaimee Michell told MRC Free Speech America, "In our instance, it is clear that big tech prioritizes the feelings of child predators and abusers more than gay people's right to speak. It’s shocking in this day and age that an organization of LGBT people would be silenced." Linktree did not respond to MRC Free Speech America's request for comment at the time of publication.

Update: Linktree responded to MRC Free Speech America's request for comment. It claimed, "The account in question violated Linktree’s Community Standards and has been removed. After review, this account was found to be spreading hate speech, which is a clear violation of our community standards and practices, and led the team to taking action on the account."
