YouTube strikes at rigorously documented and authoritatively sourced video on face masks:  Just Facts, an organization dedicated to producing rigorously researched and documented information about various public policy issues, was once again censored by YouTube. After previously going after Just Facts for a rigorously researched video about N95 masks that used factual data from peer-reviewed journals and OSHA, YouTube took another swipe at the organization's latest video on masks. Titled "Face Masks: Science v. Politics," this video was also sourced from "peer-reviewed science journals, OSHA and the CDC," according to the description for the video. Just Facts president and cofounder, Jim Agresti, also wrote in the description for the deleted video that YouTube had censored the group's previous video, displaying "callous disregard for the health of children," and that his group would "likely be dumping this platform" as a result of the ongoing censorship of factual videos. YouTube's explanation for deleting the video, according to the email that Agresti shared with CensorTrack, was that it violated the platform's "medical misinformation policy." The notice went on to say that "YouTube does not allow content that spreads medical misinformation that contradicts local health authorities' or the World Health Organization (WHO) medical information about COVID-19." It also noted that the Just Facts channel now has 1 strikes and will not be able to "upload, post, or live stream for 1 week." Agresti noted that in his appeal of the censorship, he wrote that "[e]ach and every fact in this video is rigorously documented with data from peer-reviewed scientific journals. So if you censor these verified facts, you are endangering the health of children and cover up the harms caused by your superiors at YouTube." The CDC updated its mask guidelines after the video was removed, recommending that most people in the country no longer need to wear a mask.
