Just Facts
Case #

YouTube censors rigorously sourced Just Facts video about N95 masksJust Facts, an organization dedicated to producing rigorously researched and documented information about various public policy issues, was censored by YouTube. The group posted a video that it had created titled "What They Aren't Telling You About N95 Masks," which provided information about the subject based on scientific studies. After posting the video to its YouTube channel, the video was removed by YouTube, claiming that it violated the platform's "medical misinformation" policy. Just Facts appealed the decision, explaining that "[e]ach and every fact in this video is rigorously documented with data from peer-reviewed scientific journals and the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Screen shots of these highly credible sources are in the video, and hyperlinks to them are in the description. Bottom line: If you censor these verified facts, you are endangering people's health." YouTube's response to the appeal, which Just Facts shared with CensorTrack, stated that it had "confirmed that it violates our medical misinformation policy." While Just Facts' video was rigorously sourced and documented, YouTube's claim that it contained "medical misinformation" was not. In fact, no evidence was provided for the claim that the information in the video sourced from peer-reviewed scientific journals and OSHA was incorrect.
