Facebook censors post by Maajid Nawaz referencing a new study on COVID-19 vaccines: British anti-radical political commentator Maajid Nawaz posted one of his latest Substack articles on his Facebook page, and Facebook placed a fact-check interstitial over it. The article was referencing a newly published review of data about the COVID-19 vaccines written by cardiologist Dr. Aseem Malhotra that concluded, in short, that "It cannot be said that the consent to receive these agents was fully informed, as is required ethically and legally," and recommending a pause on the vaccines worldwide. Nawaz's Substack article examined the referenced data review in depth. Facebook's placed a fact-check interstitial over the post, which according to previous reporting according to Facebook causes users to fail to click through 95% of the time. The interstitial referenced a fact-check written by a neuroscientist on the Health Feedback team that claimed Dr. Malhotra's study had "inadequate support," and called into question the objectivity of the study by pointing out that Dr. Malhotra is the editor of the journal in which the study was published. However, Facebook's interstitial claimed that the post contained "False Information," which was not verbiage used by the Health Feedback fact-check article.
