Twitter locks account of respiratory doctor after he correctly tweeted that COVID-19 is airborne: Twitter deleted a tweet by Dr. Matthew Knight, a Consultant Respiratory Physician for England's National Health Service, after he claimed that COVID-19 is an airborne infection. "To get hospitality working safely in the U.K. a significant investment is required in ventilation systems," he wrote. "The standards should be set ASAP and funding made available. Covid is airborne (as are other infections) and ventilation vital part of prevention. Good air quality vital." The Daily Mail reported that Twitter locked his account and claimed that his words violated Twitter rules on "spreading misleading and potentially harmful information related to COVID-19." Twitter account locks typically last until the user deletes the tweet in question, but Knight refused to delete his tweet and attempted to appeal the decision. Twitter denied his appeal but The Daily Mail reported that Twitter later reversed its decision claiming, "We took enforcement action on the account you referenced in error. That has since been reversed."
