YouTube removes video of a school board meeting, citing misinformation spoken by public commenters: The Vancouver, WA school board posted a video of its July 13, 2021 meeting. In the meeting's public comment period, according to reporting by The Seattle Times, "many comments were about masks in schools, COVID-19 and critical race theory. Among the misinformation shared were claims that masks were ineffective." The article also noted that YouTube alerted the school board that it "does not allow content that spread medical misinformation that contradicts the World Health Organization (WHO) or local health authorities' medical information about COVID-18, including methods to prevent, treat or diagnose COVID-19 and means of transmission of COVID-19." YouTube reportedly removed the video for the violation, issuing the board a warning. The board chose to edit the public comments out of the video and re-upload it to their channel.
