Twitter community adds a context note to Trump War Room tweet: Trump War Room, an official account for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, tweeted, “WATCH: President Trump reacts to reports of China's plans to build military training facilities in Cuba, saying it would have never happened under his watch.” The tweet included a video from Salem News Channel with host Sebastian Gorka playing Trump's statement that the tweet was based on. Twitter added a label to the post that read “Readers added context they thought people might want to know.” The added context read “The Chinese have operated a Cuban spy facility since at least 2019 when Trump was President.” A link to an ABC News article confirming the context was included. The label is part of Twitter’s Community Notes system. Twitter users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to tweets.
