X community adds a context note to user's post: An X (formerly Twitter) user posted "Breaking: Around May 2024 Joe Biden (@Potus)will announce he is not running for re-election. @MichelleObama will announce she is running. They don’t want to announce soon because it will make Joe look like a lame-duck President. It’s reported that @Barackaobama has pulled in donor money for Michele. Photo 2 is the FEC filing by the Committee to Draft Michelle Obama - posted today, Jan 26, 2023." The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. The filed date of the filing is 2020. The generated date of 2024 is the date someone pulled the report (Friday). I pulled the report today. The generated date is now Saturday: here’s the link docquery.fec.gov/cgi-bin/forms/…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
