Twitter suspended popular account for exposing alleged Russian disinformation: Twitter allegedly suspended a popular account monitoring the war in Ukraine, OSINTdefender, for a Feb. 18 tweet reportedly exposing Russian disinformation, according to snapshots. The offending tweet read, "This is a video posted by Russian Backed Forces of a Firefight that took place earlier today near the town of Horlivka, the firefight seems pretty intense and Russian Backed Separatists are claiming that they engaged Ukranians Forces trying to enter the Donetsk territory." Another snapshot of a Twitter decision on an appeal indicated that the account had been suspended. Twitter reportedly rejected the appeal and accused the account of "violations of the Twitter rules." According to the notice, Twitter said OSINTdefender would "not be able to access Twitter through your account." However, recent activity on the account suggests the suspension had been in fact lifted.
