X community adds a context note to a New York Post post: The New York Post posted "Eating this amount of protein is too much and can damage your arteries, new study warns." The post included a link to a Post article titled "You might be eating an artery-damaging amount of protein, new study warns." The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. The study in question uses two protein supplements, one of which contains oils high in PUFAs as canola and high oleic sunflower oil, which can lead to cardiovascular disease because of their proneness to oxidation, which is significantly associated to CVD clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT03946… ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
