Milo Yiannopoulos

Milo Yiannopoulos banned from Parler for making offensive jokes about homosexuals: Seemingly in a bid to see how far he could push Parler's new content regulations, right-wing commentator Milo Yiannopoulos — who is gay himself — made offensive jokes about homosexuals which resulted in his ultimate removal from the new Twitter-alternative's social network. He made posts like: "who wants to gay bash with me this weekend?”; “I mean this with all the Christian charity and compassion in the world – homosexuals should be hanged”; “death penalty for illegal immigrants when? I don’t get why we don’t shoot on sight,” among others. It is not clear which Parler policy Yiannopoulos ran afoul of. Parler uses a point system in regards to how it imposes consequences against users for violating its content moderation policies. When a user obtains 20 or more points they are banned from the platform. Another unique contributing factor to one's removal from Parler includes being judged by a jury of your peers as opposed to company employees which is typical of platforms like Twitter and Facebook, according to the National File. Yiannopoulos responded to his removal from Parler on another social media alternative Gab, stating he would be hosting a live competition to see who can get banned from Parler the quickest. Yiannopoulos is not the first person to have been kicked off Parler. Both leftists and America First Conservatives have been kicked off of Parler.
