YouTube censors Mary Talley Bowden MD: Dr. Mary Bowden, the founder of the private clinic, BreatheMD, posted on her Twitter feed, “YouTube removed the video of my press conference announcing my lawsuit against @MethodistHosp claiming ‘medical misinformation.’” Bowden also tweeted a screenshot. According the screenshot, YouTube removed Bowden’s video, entitled, “Dr. Mary Bowden announces lawsuit against Houston Methodist Hospital to obtain financial records.” YouTube claimed, “Our team has reviewed your content, and, unfortunately, we think it violates our medical misinformation policy.” YouTube’s policy states, “YouTube doesn't allow content about COVID-19 that poses a serious risk of egregious harm. YouTube doesn't allow content that spreads medical misinformation that contradicts local health authorities’ (LHA) or the World Health Organization’s (WHO) medical information about COVID-19.” However, YouTube never specified what part of Bowden’s video was untrue or harmful. In response to Bowden’s tweet, YouTube later tweeted, “Thanks for bringing this to our attention – we'll pass this along for further review. Stay tuned for an update!” YouTube seems to have restored the video. At the time of writing, the video is available on YouTube, although beneath the video is a banner that reads, “COVID-19 Vaccine – Get the latest information from the CDC.” The warning banner also includes a link to the CDC’s website. This is not the only time Bowden has run afoul of Big Tech, as she has been censored by LinkedIn and Twitter, too.
