X community adds a context note to MAGA War Room post:  Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's War Room X account posted the following: "President Trump in Iowa: 'If you go back and look at the records, you will see that the biggest fan of Dr. Fauci was Ron DeSantis.'" The post included a short video of Trump expressing these words at a televised townhall. The X community added a note to the post that read: "This is false. There are no reliable sources that confirm the statement made by Donald Trump. However, I did find a few articles that suggest that Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida has been critical of Dr. Anthony Fauci’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. washingtonexaminer.com/news/2791306/d… orlandoweekly.com/news/florida-g… newsweek.com/desantis-trump… " The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk recently shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will now be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
