X community adds a context note to Ayatollah Khamenei's post: Iran's Ayatollah Khamenei posted "In the West, #women’s dignity is being shattered more and more every day. All of the things that destroy the #family are increasing by the day in the West." The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. The Iranian regime protects the dignity of women by having religious police beat and torture them to death like Mahsa Ahmini. amnesty.org/en/latest/news… unwomen.org/en/news-storie… hrw.org/news/2022/09/1…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
