X community adds a context note to Josh Hall post: Joshua Hall, an apparent candidate for Senate in Pennsylvania who served time over threatening Rep. Eric Swalwell and for wire fraud, posted: "BREAKING: Voters are coming forward to reveal a MASSIVE VOTER FRAUD operation under way in the #IowaCaucuses wherein the DNC, Haley and DeSantis campaigns have attempted to bribe & solicite them to caucus for DeSantis or Haley for up to 100 dollars an hour per voter tonight!" The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. There is no evidence of such fraud. This is a completely made up claim unsupported by any facts whatsoever. iowagop.org/2024caucus" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
