YouTube demonetized episode of Joe Rogan podcast: Joe Rogan interviewed comedian Ari Shaffir on his show The Joe Rogan Experience and the two talked about comedy. Two episodes later Rogan's producer explained that the episode with Shaffir "got a human review with harmful or dangerous acts." Rogan stated that the video was demonetized due to a recent policy change and explained how he thinks YouTube makes some of its demonetization decisions. "They're incentivizing people to do shows that they can profit off of," he said. "So if you have a show that has no bad language, if you have a show that has no controversial topics, those shows are more appealing to advertisers. So for them [YouTube] as a business, they'll look at someone like me and say this is a limited advertiser option." It is unclear exactly why the episode was demonetized, as Rogan's producer explained that none of the clips uploaded to the podcast's clips channel were censored. However, during the conversation, the two discussed some controversial topics like jokes about violence and comedy that pokes fun at different racial and religious groups.
