X community adds a context note to user's post: An X (formerly Twitter) user posted "White House claims Joe Biden's IQ is 187 Karine Jean-Pierre just finished her Monday morning briefing and said that ⁦the Joe Biden took an 'Aptitude Test' and got an overwhelming '187 IQ' making him the smartest President in U.S. History! 187 might be his weight or height?" The post included a video featuring clips of Biden stumbling through speeches. The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. This story is wholesale fabricated; at no point during January 29th, 2024's White House Press Briefing was Joe Biden's IQ discussed or brought up in questioning. whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/… The '187 IQ' in question is referencing the user name of the poster of this unrelated post, trending at the time: twitter.com/ScottMGreer/st…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
