CNBC anchor Andrew Ross Sorkin took the opportunity to aggressively smear conservatives boycotting woke companies, after listening to an interview where the CEO of Target was pressed on his company’s disastrous year.

Sorkin claimed conservatives boycotting Target were “bigoted people” and an “extreme group of Americans” before desperately pointing back to an era when conservative boycotts were far less successful during the Nov. 2 edition of Squawk Box.

“I think it's so terrible that this company and other companies have been held hostage, effectively, by an extreme group of Americans. That's what they are, that that would come into a store, claim they're going to burn something [and] scream at the people,” Sorkin said before comparing a small number of these incidents to the current wave of anti-Semitism, “I think that what’s happened here that is so horrific, talk about marginalized people, talk about anti-Semitism in America, then you talk about what is happening here.”

Sorkin referred to boycotters as a “fringe element” falsely saying that “It’s a small group of people that are targeting folks. It’s not most of America. […] these are bigoted people who have these views.”

Sorkin heavily focused on alleged threats and harassment to explain the pressure on Target, rather than social media activity, sales or even the fact that Target’s stock price has fallen from a close of $155.58 a share on May 16 (when The Daily Wire host Matt Walsh called for a boycott) to $109.54 a share on November 1.

Despite Sorkin’s obsession with threats and harassment, he admitted ignorance when his co-hosts highlighted that the left, angry at the removal of pride merchandise, issued bomb threats against Target.

When pressed on the massive participation of Americans in similar boycotts such as the Anheuser-Busch boycott, Sorkin conceded that not every participant was a “full-on bigot,” but claimed that “I do think that what happens is: you have a group of people where this starts, where the goal is to marginalize people. That's what we have seen over and over and over again.”

When anchor Joe Kernen suggested that corporations should stay out of politics, Sorkin desperately harkened back to an era before the Bud Light, Disney and Target boycotts, pointing to Nike’s decision to partner with former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

During the interview, Target CEO Brian Cornell flatly denied working with a Satanic designer and selling transgender swimsuits to children, telling his interviewer, “You and I both know those weren't true.”  In fact, Target did sell products designed by satanist Eric Carnell, who has produced products with phrases such as “Satan Respects Pronouns.”

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) responded to the Target CEO’s on-camera dishonesty by posting on X (formerly Twitter): “Target partnered with a satanist to push the trans agenda, and then Target's CEO attacked conservatives for expressing concern. When Target comes begging Republicans for help, our response will be, ‘best of luck!’”

Earlier this year, Sen. Cotton dressed down the CEO of Kroger for violating the religious liberty of Kroger employees by forcing them to wear pride gear, letting him know not to expect any favors from conservative legislators while persecuting conservatives.

Incidentally, the Target CEO mentioned corporate efforts to help local district attorneys understand how devastating retail theft has been for their stores and expressed hope that these DA’s would prosecute offenders. Leftists such as George Soros have funded soft-on-crime prosecutors across the country, including in many of America’s major cities.
