X community adds a context note to Jordan Peterson post: Author and clinical psychologist Jordan B. Peterson re-posted a user who posted a video showing scenes from a trucker convoy with many supporters flying American flags. The user added his own commentary to this video, saying, "America truckers, farmers and patriots are on their way to the Texas border to save their country from the illegal invasion destroying their country. America is so back." The X community added a community note to this post. Peterson added his commentary to the user's post, saying, "The militia arises." The X community added a note to Peterson's post as well that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. This video is not recent. It is from May of 2022, showing a trucker convoy from CA to Washington DC. businessinsider.com/trucker-convoy…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
