X community adds a context note to Rachel Powell post: Rachel Powell, a January 6 defendant, posted "Let it be clear that the United States Government holds people in confinement and no representatives or judicial branch cares. There is no time limit to how long they can hold a person like this. This is not America. The Constitution is dead. What are you going to do about it?" The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. Rachel Powell has been on home detention since she violated her pretrial conditions of release. nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna1…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
