Sharing Restriction

Twitter censors user's post for COVID-19 vaccine misinformation, but post was about Sudden Infant Death Syndrome: Twitter user @TexasLindsay tweeted a clip from ABC's Good Morning America with co-host Michael Strahan discussing new American Academy of Pediatrics sleep guidelines to help prevent Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). This clip did not discuss COVID-19, the vaccines, or the more recent controversial discussion about so-called "Sudden Adult Death Syndrome." However, Twitter has placed a restriction on the tweet preventing it from being shared, liked or replied to, and applied a label that states the tweet is "Misleading" and provides a link where users can "[l]earn why health officials consider COVID-19 vaccines safe for most people." Lindsay also reached out to CensorTrack with screenshots showing that her account was locked for a short time because her account violated Twitter's "rules against abusive behavior." While her account has now been unlocked and she is able to tweet again, the tweet that has been incorrectly restricted is still in a censored state. Twitter did not return a request for comment by the time of publication.
