Twitter prevents alternative social network Minds from running ad: Minds, an "open source network dedicated to internet freedom," shared a screenshot from Twitter denying the alternative platform the ability to purchase ad space. Minds attempted to buy ad space for a tweet promoting its upcoming "Festival of Ideas." The caption said, "Minds Festival is proving that people with opposing views still want to have productive conversations and have a good time together." As reported by Breitbart and the Post Millennial, Minds immediately received a rejection email from Twitter. The notice said the ad was not approved because it included inappropriate content. In response to the notice, Minds tweeted, "within seconds of submitting, Twitter just called this post inappropriate and unable to be promoted. Dystopia. How dare you post about an event for civil dialogue and standup comedy." It is unclear how this ad violated Twitter's policy against inappropriate content.
