Twitter Flags Texas AG’s Tweets as ‘Hateful’

Twitter has flagged tweets from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in the wake of his comments on two transgender women.
According to the Washington Examiner, Paxton tweeted last week about Assistant Health Secretary Rachel Levine and swimmer Lia Thomas. Both are transgender women.
“Congratulations to Emma Weyant for being the real champion of the Division 1 NCAA women’s 500-yard freestyle, because the person who came in 'first' is actually a man,” Paxton tweeted. Weyant came in second to Thompson
Twitter flagged the tweet as “hateful conduct.” While users can choose to “view” the tweet, they cannot like or retweet it.
“This Tweet violated the Twitter Rules about hateful conduct,” Twitter’s flag reads. “However, Twitter has determined that it may be in the public’s interest for the Tweet to remain accessible.”
In another tweet flagged as “hateful conduct,” Paxton slammed Twitter’s labels.
“This whole insane episode represents a two-pronged attack from the left — both of which I’m vigorously fighting against,” Paxton wrote. “First is the left’s war against human biology, and especially against women. Second is their weaponization of Big Tech against conservative voices.”
“Big Tech is not only anti-conservative and anti-Republican," he added. “It is now apparently anti-truth and anti-science. I will continue to use all my power to hold them accountable. Even now, I’m exploring legal options to stop their one-sided censorship.”
