YouTube demonetized a video drawing attention to a Chinese tennis star who disappeared: YouTube demonetized a clip from the Breaking Points with Krystal and Saagar podcast after the show hosts reported on Chinese tennis star, Peng Suai, who allegedly disappeared after she accused a senior Chinese official of sexual harassment. Suai, ranked number one in the world for doubles tennis, had not been seen or directly heard from weeks after she posted the allegations on Nov 2. According to the Breaking Points video, the Chinese state-affiliated media CGTN tweeted that Suai allegedly contacted the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), but according a statement by the WTA the email did not quell concerns for the tennis star's safety. YouTube demonetized the Breaking Points video reporting the story, claiming that it "isn't suitable for all advertisers. [And] [a]s a result, it will continue to run limited or no ads." The platform "confirmed" its decision to demonetize it upon "manually reviewing the video." Suai was seen at a youth tennis event in Beijing and a video call with members of the Intetrnational Olympic Committee since the Breaking Points video was demonetized.
