Instagram fact-checks a COVID-19 related post from Blaze host Elijah Schaffer: Elijah Schaffer, host for The Blaze, received a fact-check on an Instagram post about COVID-19 vaccines. He posted an image of a quote tweet that he had sent on his @ElijahSchaffer Twitter feed to his @slightlyoffensive.tv Instagram account. The tweet that he was quote tweeting was from @Breaking911 and read: "NEW: About 40-50% of CDC, FDA employees are refusing the COVID-19 vaccine according to Fauci, Marks." Schaffer had added, "A vaccine so reliable and safe the people telling you to get it won't get it themselves." The fact-check check applied to this post called it False, and referenced three different fact-check articles. The Lead Stories article was titled "Drs. Fauci, Marks Did NOT Say 'About 40 To 50% Of CDC, FDA Employees Are Refusing The COVID-19 Vaccine." The PolitiFact article rated the claim False. The Reuters piece shared a headline with the Lead Stories one. According to Facebook, users fail to click through fact-check interstitials 95% of the time. Instagram, owned by Facebook, likely has similar results.
