The American Conservative Union
Case #
2500

YouTube allegedly deleted video of Trump uploaded by the American Conservative Union, banned the channel from uploading new content for a week: The American Conservative Union (ACU) said that YouTube deleted its video featuring former President Donald Trump's announcement that he would be filing lawsuits against Google, Facebook and Twitter. "We stood with President Trump on his lawsuit against Big Tech and they censored @A1Policy@CPAC," tweeted ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp. The video was part of the ACU's "America UnCanceled" program that was broadcast via the CPAC NOW network, according to the ACU. The video was reportedly in violation of YouTube's community guidelines around COVID-19 medical misinformation, but the platform did not specify which statements made in the video violated that policy, the ACU reported. "YouTube issued a strike against ACU's YouTube account on July 9th and banned the organization from posting for one week," the ACU said. "As a result, YouTube has prevented ACU from sharing content from CPAC 2021 Part 2 in Dallas, Texas, including former President Donald Trump's speech on Sunday, July 11."

The American Conservative Union's offices are in Virginia's 8th Congressional district, represented by Democrat Donald S. Beyer, Jr.
