Post from Newsom challenger announcing his candidacy and calling the incumbent a "weanie baby" briefly removed from Instagram:  Kevin Paffrath, a real estate agent and social media personality, had his most successful Instagram post briefly removed from the platform for violating its harassment guidelines. In the video Paffrath announces his candidacy and calls Gavin Newsom, the incumbent, a "weanie baby." Paffrath said in a YouTube video following the incident that he is doubtful about whether this was an algorithmic accident because his post remained untouched for a full 24-hours. "I think if an algorithm flagged it, it probabaly would have gotten flagged way earlier," Paffrath said, "and this conveniently getting removed, like, start of the day, its like 'oh, top of the email kind of deal with this report,' it just feels like a human removal." Paffrath said in the video that he thinks the removal happened because of his "weanie baby" comments "because they called it harassment and bullying." Instagram's harassment guidelines prohibit content targeting "private individuals to degrade or shame them," as well as content that includes identifying personal information, "intimate images" or threats to post such content.
