Facebook removes Australian politician Craig Kelly's backup account for violating ban circumvention policy two days after he was initially banned: Two days after banning his main account for "repeated violations" of the platform's policy on sharing misinformation about COVID-19, Facebook removed Craig Kelly's backup account that he continued to post from following his main account's removal. “When we remove people for violating our policies, we don’t allow them to circumvent this with additional accounts,” a Facebook spokeswoman said in a statement, according to The New Daily. “We have removed Craig Kelly’s second Facebook page and Instagram account for violating our policies on this.” Kelly's initial ban happened around the time his account had made several posts in support of ivermectin as a treatment for COVID-19, which goes against Facebook's policy that prohibits content promoting alternative treatments. Kelly has officially been deplatformed from one of the largest social networking conglomerates in the world.
