Google forces social media application focused on internet freedom to alter features: Minds is a social media platform focused on internet freedom, which includes "censorship-resistant infrastructure," according to the company's CEO Bill Ottman. Google gave the company a 24 hour warning to fix certain features of its application if it wanted to remain available in the tech behemoth's app store. "We had to remove search, discovery and comments. I know. We aren't happy and will be working towards something better," said Ottman in a public statement on Minds. "What is fascinating is how Signal and Telegram are navigating this and in my opinion they are still there because they are encrypted messengers without much 'public' content. Obviously controversial speech is happening there too." The full version of the app is still available on the Minds website.
