PayPal cuts ties with Christian Crowdfunding site: Due to fundraising efforts on Christian crowdfunding site GiveSendGo aimed at collecting funds for attendees of the pro-Trump rally in Washington that led to rioting at the U.S. Capitol, PayPal has decided to stop permitting the site to process donations using its services. "The account in question was closed due to a violation of our Acceptable Use Policy," a PayPal spokesperson said in a statement, according to The Daily Mail. "PayPal carefully reviews accounts to ensure our services are used in line with our long-standing policy, taking action when we deem that individuals or organizations have violated this policy." The Daily Mail said PayPal noted that it forbids services that "promote hate, violence or other forms of intolerance." GiveSendGo CEO Jacob Wells said the company does not endorse or support every campaign run on its platform. Wells also said in a statement to Bloomberg that it was GiveSendGo that cut ties with PayPal, not the other way around. "We have/are changing/moved away from our previous payment solutions (examples. WePay, Stripe, Paypal etc) and are implementing/working with our own solutions to continue providing efficient service to our users,” a GiveSendGo spokesperson reportedly told Gizmodo.
