Twitter restricts sharing of WSJ Op-Ed profile of Kimberly Klacik: Twitter users have been thwarted from sharing a Wall Street Journal Op-Ed. The piece, titled "A Black Lives Matter Republican," gives a detailed profile of Congressional candidate Kimberly Klacik. Before users could retweet this piece, Twitter added an extra hoop to jump through. The warning label says "Headlines don't tell the full story. you can read the article on Twitter before Retweeting." This is one of the ways that Twitter is using to slow down the sharing of information of its choosing. Twitter claims that this feature helps lead to more "informed discussion. Twitter's Director of Product Management Suzanne Xie said, "It’s easy for articles to go viral on Twitter. At times, this can be great for sharing information, but can also be detrimental for discourse, especially if people haven’t read what they’re Tweeting."
