Twitter censors user for bringing awareness to so-called "Trans Day of Vengeance": A Twitter user shared a screenshot of author Wesley Yang's Twitter censorship notice. Yang tweeted "This was the image that was posted by @OurRightsDC for 'Trans Day of Vengeance' which Eliza reposted in the tweet that got her locked by Twitter admin. @OurRightsDC locked their account yesterday." He included the image of the poster for the planned event. Twitter claimed his tweet violated its "rules against violent speech." Yang's account was locked until he deleted the tweet. It appears Twitter censored every post about the Trans Day of Vengeance, even if the post criticized the event. Twitter VP of Trust and Safety Ella Irwin tweeted that the platform "had to automatically sweep our platform and remove >5000 tweets /retweets of this poster. We do not support tweets that incite violence irrespective of who posts them. "Vengeance" does not imply peaceful protest. Organizing or support for peaceful protests is ok."
