X community adds a context note to Vivek Ramaswamy post:  Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy's official X account posted, “TRUTH: the fact that “Putin is bad” doesn’t mean Ukraine is good. Pro-war Republicans are selling the same lie as Biden. Zelensky has banned 11 opposition parties & consolidated all TV channels into *one* state broadcaster. The country threatened not to hold its regular elections unless the U.S. forks over more $$, it has an abysmal record on corruption, and Zelensky shamefully joined the Canadian parliament to applaud a Nazi collaborator. Most occupied regions in the Donbas are Russian-speaking & haven’t voted in Ukrainian parliamentary elections for nearly a decade. We have to confront these hard facts or else we’ll repeat the same mistakes as we did in Iraq & Afghanistan.” X added a label to the post that read "Readers added context they thought people might want to know.” The added context read "Parliament suspended general elections in United Kingdom during WW2. Unlike Ukraine, UK wasn’t partially occupied by an invading army at that time. Martial law currently in force in Ukraine prohibits elections. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1945_Unit… foreignpolicy.com/2023/07/11/ukr…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system.
