Tomball Pawn

Facebook censors user for post promoting in-store sale of guns: A Twitter account for Tomball Pawn & Jewelry store in Texas tweeted a screenshot of a Facebook censorship notice the store received. The store had posted on Facebook two pictures showing firearms with text saying "Used inventory stocked today." This was clearly not intended to sell the guns via Facebook, but rather to advertise what stock was available in the store. Despite this, Facebook claimed the post violated its "Community Standards on guns, animals and other regulated goods." The post was deleted by Facebook. The notice further stated that Facebook has "these standards to encourage safety and compliance with common legal restrictions." The store nor its post were in any violation of common legal restrictions.
