Twitter restricts a user’s account: A user tweeted a screenshot of their account, showing a previous tweet and Twitter’s warning. The prior tweet read, “The LGB part is sexual preference, the rest is a mental health issue.” Per a screenshot, Twitter had required that the user delete the tweet. The reason was “violating our rules against hateful conduct.” Twitter stipulates, “You may not promote violence against, threaten, or harass other people on the basis of race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease.” Twitter did not specify what specific content in the user’s tweet qualified as such prohibited conduct. The user also says that he was banned from Twitter for seven days. At the time of publishing, his account appears to be restored.
