X community adds context note to UK Prime Minister's post: The official X account of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Rishi Sunak posted, "Calculate your savings from our tax cut: https://taxcuts.conservatives.com." The post came in reply to another post by Rishi Sunak's account which also received its own Community Note. X added a label to the reply post that read "Readers added context they thought people might want to know." The added context read, "Using this website and submitting the form will sign you up to the Conservative Party mailing list. A third-party tax calculator, such as one by MoneySavingExpert, provides more accurate breakdowns of the estimated wage without harvesting your data. moneysavingexpert.com/tax-calculator/" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk recently shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted to explain that notices will now be pushed to users that previously engaged with a post about any Community Notes added to it after the engagement.
