X community adds a context note to NBC News post: NBC News posted on X: "Elon Musk has touted Community Notes as a way to fight false and misleading information on X. @NBCNews gained access to the system, and found that on posts containing known misinformation, few posts were ever corrected. Many fact-checks were delayed." The X community added a context note to the post that read "NBC did not access any X system. They accessed a Community Notes Contributor. No X employee is making decisions. Community Notes algorithm requires consensus for any note to achieve 'helpful' status to display. The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk recently shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted to explain that notices will now be pushed to users that previously engaged with a post about any Community Notes added to it after the engagement.
