Twitter forced a user to delete a tweet and locked the user's account for 12 hours for supporting Kyle Rittenhouse online: Eighteen-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse was charged with first-degree murder after he killed two men and injured another purportedly in self-defense during one of the 2020 Antifa riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin. A user tweeted "Kyle's a true hero. Nobody's done what he has to stand up for American justice than he. Tough Day for Prosecutors of Kyle Rittenhouse." The user also linked to a Gateway Pundit article. Screenshots, tweeted by the user, show that Twitter removed the tweet claiming that it violated its "rules against glorifying violence." The notice explains that Twitter prohibits "content that condones or celebrates acts of violence that could promote imitation of the act" and "glorifying the perpetrators of such violence," according to screenshots. The photo also shows that the user was forced to delete the tweet and "acknowledge that [its] tweet violated the Twitter Rules" in order to regain access to the account.
