Twitter restricts user's account: Twitter restricted a user's account, according to purported screenshots shared with MRC Free Speech America. The user responded to a tweet about a Des Moines, Iowa councilwoman who said hip hop concerts should not be allowed in public parks because they do not support "family values and traditions." Twitter claimed three of her responses violated the platform's rules against "hateful conduct." The first tweet said, "Maybe the black community should try 'family values and traditions' instead of killing each other on the streets https://t.co/mzbZI2GN5c." The second tweet said, "@ItsT_4041 You're the side that actively wants whites to be a minority. That will never happen if blacks keep killing each other on the street. Which, again, I think they should stop doing." The third tweet said, "@Sovann_Jahlee @jaylencavil Blacks are more likely to be killed by other blacks than whites." Twitter temporarily limited some of the user's account features. "While in this state, you can still browse Twitter, but you're limited to only sending Direct Messages to your followers -- no Tweets, Retweets, Fleets, follows, or likes," the notice said. The platform said it would restore her account 12 hours after she deleted the three tweets. The user said she appealed Twitter's decision but the platform denied her appeal.
