Famous Bollywood actress who is supporter of India's nationalist party has been banned from Twitter for purportedly calling for violence against the party's opposition candidate: Kangana Ranaut, a popular Bollywood actress known for her ardent support of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his nationalist party, has been banned from Twitter the platform indicated. At the time of its removal, Ranaut's account had approximately 3 million followers. The tweet that reportedly led to her removal from the platform supposedly called for violent tactics to "tame" West Bengal’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, whose regional party defeated Modi’s Hindu nationalists to keep control of the state government in recent elections. "This is horrible... we need super gundai to kill gundai... she is like an unleashed monster, to tame her Modi ji please show your Virat roop from early 2000's .... #PresidentRuleInBengal," the actress's tweet reportedly read. Twitter said that Ranaut was "permanently suspended for repeated violations" of Twitter's rules, "specifically [its] Hateful Conduct policy and Abusive Behaviour policy," according to reporting from AL Jazeera
