Podcaster Joe Rogan explains that some old episodes are missing from Spotify because of censorship: Popular podcaster Joe Rogan moved his show to Spotify in a $100 million deal on September 1, 2020. While his show archive was also moved to the streaming platform, many episodes featuring controversial guests or content were glaringly missing when the move was completed. These included episodes featuring figures like Alex Jones, David Seaman, Owen Benjamin, Stefan Molyneux, Milo Yiannopoulos, Gavin McInnes, Charles C Johnson, Sargon of Akkad, Chris D'Elia, Tommy Chong, Mikhaila Peterson and others. There was speculation as to why these episodes did not make the move to Spotify, and Rogan has now acknowledged that as part of the deal, Spotify demanded that these episodes not be hosted on its platform. It is not clear why this was done, as they have since allowed Rogan to conduct a new interview with Alex Jones that has not been removed as yet. Rogan did not explain what Spotify's reasoning was for not hosting the episodes, just that it would not allow the episodes.
