Jenna Ellis
Case #
1527

Twitter uses new, enhanced warning label on a Jenna Ellis tweet about the election certification: Team Trump lawyer Jenna Ellis had one of her tweets labeled with an enhanced warning label that had previously been used on a Trump tweet that subsequently was required to be deleted. Her offending tweet read: "93-6 in the Senate to ratify the illegal certification in Arizona. The Republican Party is officially over today." The new Twitter label read: "This claim of election fraud is disputed, and this Tweet can't be replied to, Retweeted, or liked due to a risk of violence." It linked to a Twitter information page titled "There is no evidence of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 US presidential election, government officials and election experts confirm." This page includes an unattributed summary of this issue, as well as what Twitter deems to be "What you need to know" about the issue. It also includes multiple tweets from liberal media Twitter accounts about the major points that Twitter deems important about this issue. One day after the Ellis tweet went live, it mysteriously disappeared. It is unclear whether Ellis deleted it herself, or if Twitter deleted it on her behalf or required her to delete it.
