X community adds a context note to Ian Miles Cheong post: Political commentator Ian Miles Cheong posted "Oh cool, they're getting people with mental disorders to fly planes now." The post was in response to a Libs of TikTok post highlighting a Fox News article headlined "FAA's diversity push includes focus on hiring people with 'severe intellectual' and 'psychiatric' disabilities." The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. The FAA prohibits the issuance of a pilot license for those with: Attention Deficit Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Personality Disorder, Psychosis, Substance Abuse Substance Dependence and a Suicide Attempt. Some exceptions apply for ADD/ADHD. Source: faa.gov/ame_guide/app_…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
