YouTube restricts documentary about the American Revolution: A 50-minute documentary titled "History: The American Revolution 1776 Documentary" was restricted by YouTube for containing content identified by the platform "as inappropriate or offensive to some audiences." Videos that YouTube restricts can sometimes become "unavailable" for users who have "Restricted Mode" turned on, according to YouTube's guidelines on how restricted mode works. One way this occurs is when a restricted video is simultaneously "age-restricted," states YouTube's guidelines on restricted videos. "Age-restricted videos are not viewable to users who are under 18 years of age or signed out," reads YouTube's policy guidelines on age-restricted videos. "Also, age-restricted videos cannot be watched on most third-party websites." The documentary was also indeed age-restricted, so besides the two warnings attempting to compel users not to watch it, the video's reach was also limited.
