X community adds a context note to a Catturd post: X (formerly Twitter) user Catturd posted "Breaking … An unprecedented solar flare unseen in 43 years happened today and caused a massive AT&T shutdown. Verizon, however, had previously installed anti-solar flare devices and they were not affected." The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. AT&T never claimed this was from a solar outage. Their statement claims that they believe the outage was caused by "the application and execution of an incorrect process used as we were expanding our network." about.att.com/pages/network-…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
