Bette Midler
Case #
4146

Twitter Autoblock feature censors Bette Midler's tweets: Twitter's "safety mode" "autoblock" feature prevented a user from viewing and interacting with Bette Midler's tweets. Twitter's autoblock feature allowed the platform to automatically block accounts by assessing "the likelihood of a negative engagement by considering both the Tweet's content and the relationship between the Tweet author and replier." The user said he was trying to reply to Midler about one of her memes before he was autoblocked by Twitter. The user received a message saying "you're temporarily autoblocked from viewing and interacting with @BetteMidler's Tweets. This happened when they were in Safety Mode, and we flagged your interactions as potentially abusive or spammy."
