X community adds a context note to an A.J. Delgado post: A.J. Delgado posted about the discussion on whether Harvard Extension School graduates should claim a "Harvard degree" or not. She stated, in part, "Hi, Harvard real-degree here. You're spot on. The 'extension school' is a source of laughter and annoyance for students and alumni. (I think Columbia has one, too -- same thing there.) It's basically an 'anyone can enroll, so long as you can pay', no more stringent than a community college." The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. This is false. Harvard Extension School (HES) is a fully accredited Harvard School, with automatic membership to the Harvard Alumni Association. Admission is based on performance in three prerequisite degree courses, and it is targeted towards older age and distance students." The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
